About Permaculture Farming and the Owners

Why do you grow threeĀ different crops??

Because the help each other grow better!

Ā

Permaculture is almost an umbrella term describing agricultural methods that support sustainability. It is Permanent Agriculture - while the advent of farming changed the world forever, the large majority of farms do the opposite to the land and our earth:

Rather than encourage an ongoing, permanently sustainable method of producing crops, many farms instead sap the soil of nutrients, destroy a healthy microbiome, and create an unsustainable or even toxic environment.

At Rooster Farms we use a variety of permaculture farming methods such as being the oldest certified organic Kona Coffee farm, using a proprietary input for sustainable fertilizer, and intercropping with an immense diversity.

Ā

While you will see countless varieties of plants such as Tii, Taro, variousĀ Citrus, Avocado, and many others on our farm, the mainĀ varying plant is also our crop! Ā Turmeric is a potent anti-fungal and anti disease plant so it helps our coffee which is a plant prone to mycotoxins and fungal disease.Ā

Ā

Ā

All our plants work harmoniously together, fueling and building the microbiome and soil!
